Refactor `*ExportConfiguration` classes to be regular auto-configuration

Update `GitProperties` so that the `commit.id` entry is also copied to
`commit.id.full`.
Prior to this commit, when returning full details, the value of
`commit.id` would be replaced with a `Map` containing only `abbriv` as
a key. By copying the value to a sub-key we ensure that it remains
available both in the FULL and SIMPLE modes.

This change updates SqlDialectLookup to delegate to jOOQ's JDBCUtils
rather than creating an additional mapping between
org.springframework.boot.jdbc.DatabaseDriver and org.jooq.SQLDialect.
This has the following advantages:
1. jOOQ's `SQLDialect` to URL mappings are already maintained by jOOQ,
so no additional changes will be necessary to Spring Boot in the
future.
2. Delegating to jOOQ means that the mapping also works for the
commercial jOOQ distributions, e.g. when working with DB2, Oracle,
SQL Server, etc., as the JDBCUtils of the commercial distribution
also contains the relevant logic to map to e.g. `SQLDialect.DB2`,
`SQLDialect.ORACLE`, `SQLDialect.SQLSERVER` (which are not
available from the open source distribution linked by Spring Boot
by default).

The fix in Spring Data Redis for sentinel configuration means that
two Jedis sentinel tests now attempt to connect to a Sentinel. As a
result the tests fail. Running a Redis Sentinel in a Docker container
appears to be non-trivial. As an alternative, this commit updates the
tests to capture the JedisConnectionFactory prior to its
initialization (which is the failure trigger) and then assert that its
configuration is as expected.

Add a new `WebServerApplicationContext` interface that provides a common
abstraction for all application contexts that create and manage the
lifecycle of an embedded `WebServer`.
Allows server namespaces to become a first-class concept (rather
subverting `ConfigurableWebApplicationContext.getNamespace()`) and
allow us to drop `getServerId()` from `WebServerInitializedEvent`.
Also helps to improve `ManagementContextAutoConfiguration` and
`ManagementContextFactory`.

By default, AbstractTestExecutionListeners have an order of lowest
precedence. This means that it is impossible to write a listener with
lower precedence that any listener that's using the default order.
This commit updates Boot's 6 AbstractTestExecutionListeners to order
them explicitly. MockitoTestExecutionListener performs injection of
Mockito mocks and spies into the test instance. It now has an order of
2050 giving it slightly lower precedence than the dependency injection
test execution listener (2000).
The remaining 5 listeners have all been ordered with lowest precedence
- 100. This leaves them near their current lowest precedence position
while creating some room for any listeners that require lower
precedence.

Previously, the order of the entries in a TestJarFile was determined
by the underlying file system rather than by the order in which
they were added. This could lead to unpredicatable ordering and
failures in tests that verify archive entry ordering.
This commit updates TestJarFile to add entries to the archive in
insertion order.

Previously, the Repackager would write entries in the following
order:
- Libraries that require unpacking
- Existing entries
- Application classes
- WEB-INF/lib jars in a war
- Libraries that do not require unpacking
- Loader classes
Libraries that require unpacking were written before existing entries
so that, when repackaging a war, an entry in WEB-INF/lib would not
get in first and prevent a library with same location from being
unpacked. However, this had the unwanted side-effect of changing
the classpath order when an entry requires unpacking.
This commit reworks the handling of existing entries and libraries
that require unpacking so that existing entries can be written first
while also marking any that match a library that requires unpacking
as requiring unpacking.
Additionally, loader classes are now written first. They are the
first classes in the jar that will be used so it seems to make sense
for them to appear first. This aligns Maven-based repackaging
with the Gradle plugin's behaviour and with the structure documented
in the reference documentation's "The Executable Jar Format" appendix.
The net result of the changes described above is that entries are
now written in the following order:
- Loader classes
- Existing entries
- Application classes
- WEB-INF/lib jars in a war marked for unpacking if needed
- Libraries

Previously, the ordering of the entries in an archive produced by
BootJar was different to the ordering of the entries in an archive
produced by BootWar. The latter placed application classes before
any nested jars, whereas the former was the other way around.
This commit updates BootJar to use the same ordering as BootWar and
adds tests to verify that the ordering is the following:
1. Loader classes
2. Application classes (BOOT-INF/classes or WEB-INF/classes)
3. Nested jars (BOOT-INF/lib or WEB-INF/lib)
4. Provided nested jars in a war (WEB-INF/lib-provided)
The tests also verify that the position of a library is not affected
by it requiring unpacking.

While Spring Mobile support has been removed from Spring Boot, the
auto-configuration has been relocated to a separate module that uses
the same keys.
Flagging those keys as deprecated means that the IDE will be confused
when the extra jar is present on the classpath as it advertizes, as
it should, support fo them.

Add MeterFilter to restrict the maximum number of web client URI tags
created. Prior to this commit, if a user was manually building URIs for
use with a RestTemplate (rather than using uriVariables) the JVM could
run out of memory.

Update micrometer auto-configuration so that a `CompositeMeterRegistry`
is only created when more than one `MeterRegistry` bean is declared.
When a composite is crated, it is marked as `@Primary` so that it
can be directly injected. Meter registries can now be defined directly
as beans, and auto-configuration can back off in the usual way.
The `MeterRegistryConfigurer` is now called `MeterRegistryCustomizer`
and is generically types so it's easy to apply customizations to a
particular `MeterRegistry` implementation.

By default, JUL configures a single root handler. That handler is a
ConsoleHandler. Previously, we removed all root handlers from JUL but
this is problematic in environments where other handlers are
registered with JUL and those handlers need to be retained.
0679d436 attempted to fix the problem by leaving the root handlers in
place and only adding and removing the bridge handler. This resulted
in log output from Tomcat (and anything else that uses JUL) being
duplicated.
This commit makes another attempt at tackling the problem. It attempts
to detect JUL's default configuration (a single root handler that's a
ConsoleHandler) and only removes the handler if it appears to be from
the default configuration. For environments where default JUL
configuration is being used, this will prevent duplicate logging and
for environments where custom JUL configuration is being used, this
will prevent that configuration from being undone.

Previously, the test in MetricsAutoConfigurationIntegrationTests was
testing the functionality of WebMvcMetricsFilter to verify that the
auto-configuration had registered the filter for async dispatches.
This test was complex and covered the same code as a test in
WebMvcMetricsFilterTests.
This commit reworks the test to examine the dispatcher types on the
filter registration directly instead.

This commit makes sure that a "cache.time-to-live" property is not
generated for endpoints that do not have a main read operation (i.e. a
read operation with no parameter or only nullable parameters).
This matches the endpoint feature that provides caching for only such
operation.

allowing for a combination of the provider's and the primary
DataSource's configuration to be used. This gives developers the

There's an extra ClassLoader in the hierarchy of the TCCL in Groovy
2.4 vs Groovy 2.5 so we require an extra getParent() call to avoid
being able to load classes that are visible to the launched URL
class loader.

Previously, the logging system was cleaned up in response to the
root context's ContextClosedEvent being received. This event is
published early in a context's close processing. As a result, the
logging system is in cleaned up state while, for example, disposable
beans are being destroyed.
This commit reworks the logic that triggers logging system clean up
to use a disposable bean instead. Disposable beans are called in
reverse-registration order. The logging clean up bean is registered as
early as possible so that it should be the last disposable bean to
be called.

Previously, Hikari's pool name was auto-configured with the value of
`spring.datasource.name` that defaults to `testdb`, which brings some
confusion.
This commit removes the default `testdb` value on
`spring.datasource.name` as it is a sane default only for an embedded
datasource. It is applied whenever applicable instead.

On CI, Cassandra running inside the Docker container sometimes fails
to start or the start times out. This has nothing to do with Boot so
we attempt to protect our tests from the flakiness of the container
by allowing 3 startup attempts.
This commit adds InvalidEndpointRequestException as a technology
agnostic way to signal that an endpoint request is invalid. When such
exception is thrown, the web layer translates that to a 400.
Rather than overriding the reason, this commit makes sure to reuse the
error infrastructure.

This commit makes sure that `CharacterEncodingFilter` is ordered with
the `Ordered.HIGHEST_PRECEDENCE` and that other filters, potentially
reading the request body, are ordered after.
In this particular case, both `WebMvcMetricsFilter` and
`ErrorPageFilter` are now ordered at `Ordered.HIGHEST_PRECEDENCE + 1` to
avoid cases where the request body is read before the encoding
configuration is taken into account.

This commit adds a new `spring-boot-configuration-analyzer` module that
can be added to any app to analyze its environment on startup.
Each configuration key that has a matching replacement is temporarily
transitioned to the new name with a `WARN` report that lists all of
them.
If the project defines configuration keys that don't have a replacement,
an `ERROR` report lists them with more information if it is available.

Add `@ControllerEndpoint` and `@RestControllerEndpoint` annotations that
can be used to develop a Spring-only request mapped endpoint. Both
Spring MVC and Spring WebFlux are supported.
This feature is primarily for use when deeper Spring integration is
required or when existing Spring Boot 1.5 projects want to migrate to
Spring Boot 2.0 without re-writing existing endpoints. It comes at the
expense of portability, since such endpoints will be missing from
Jersey.

Create a `PathMappedEndpoint` interface that allows any `ExposedEndpoint`
to provide root path details. The `EndpointPathResolver` interface has
been renamed to `PathMapper` and is now only used during endpoint
discovery.
`EndpointPathProvider` has been replaced with `PathMappedEndpoints`
which simply finds relevant path mapped endpoints.

Refactor several areas of the actuator endpoint code in order to make
future extensions easier. The primary goal is to introduce the concept
of an `ExposableEndpoint` that has technology specific subclasses and
can carry additional data for filters to use. Many other changes have
been made along the way including:
* A new EndpointSupplier interface that allows cleaner separation of
supplying vs discovering endpoints. This allows cleaner class names
and allows for better auto-configuration since a user can choose to
provide their own supplier entirely.
* A `DiscoveredEndpoint` interface that allows the `EndpointFilter`
to be greatly simplified. A filter now doesn't need to know about
discovery concerns unless absolutely necessary.
* Improved naming and package structure. Many technology specific
concerns are now grouped in a better way. Related concerns are
co-located and concepts from one area no longer leakage into another.
* Simplified `HandlerMapping` implementations. Many common concerns have
been pulled up helping to create simpler subclasses.
* Simplified JMX adapters. Many of the intermediary `Info` classes have
been removed. The `DiscoveredJmxOperation` is now responsible for
mapping methods to operations.
* A specific @`HealthEndpointCloudFoundryExtension` for Cloud Foundry.
The extension logic used to create a "full" health endpoint extension
has been made explicit.

Previously, the server was created with out an explicitly configured
address. This lead to it using any local address which will prefer
IPv6 (::0) if it's available. By contrast, the client was created
with a base URL that specified localhost as the host. This meant the
the client would prefer to connect to IPv4. Normally this wouldn't
cause a problem as nothing would be listening on the port in the IPv4
stack so the client would then connect to the server being tested
using the IPv6 stack. However, if another process was listening to the
port in the IPv4 stack, the client would connect to the wrong server.
This could lead to an unexpected 404 response (if the wrong server
was an HTTP server) or a hang if it was not.
There's a chance, although I think it's unlikely, that the problem
described above is the cause of gh-10569. I think it's unlikely as
the hang tracked by gh-10569 only occurs when running the WebFlux
endpoint integration tests using Reactor Netty. If it was the problem
described above, there's no reason that I can think of why we
wouldn't have also seen it with the Web MVC endpoint integration
tests.
As `validation-api` 2 is available by default, this commit adds the
integration test as a regular test case. The integration test is kept to
exercise what happens in a standard project.

This commit prevents the default error view from rendering itself if the
response has been committed already. In this case, it is impossible to
change the HTTP response status and write a proper response - trying to
do so often results in a `IllegalStateException` since the response body
has already been written to.

Previously, the default Logback configuration set the console
appenders charset to UTF-8. This was inconsistent with the Logback
file appender and Log4j2's console and file appenders, all of which
used the platform's default.
This commit removes the configuration of the Logback console
appender's charset. This means that it will use the platform's
default charset, aligning it with the Logback file appender and
both Log4j2 appenders.

Previously, the ServletContext was configured after any
ServletContextInitializer beans had been initialized. This meant that
any configuration class that provided such a bean would be initialized
before the ServletContext was configured. If the configuration class
used the ServletContext in its initializtaion that it would see it in
its default, unconfigured state.
This commit reworks the configuration of the ServletContext so that
it happens before any ServletContextInitializer beans are initialized.

This commit removes the use of the incubating PropertyState and
Provider API that was introduced in Gradle 4.0 and deprecated in
Gradle 4.3. A not-deprecated-but-still-incubating replacement was
introduced in Gradle 4.3. The short life of PropertyState and Provider
has made me wary of using an incubating Gradle API in our public API
as it may not be stable for long. Therefore, this commit does not move
to the replacement as it is incubating. Instead, it falls back to
using Gradle's convention mapping. This is internal API, but its use
is not part of our public API and I perceive the risk of using it to
be lower than using the deprecated and/or incubating API alternatives.

This commit adds support for HTTP compression with reactive servers,
with the following exceptions:
* `server.compression.mime-types` and
`server.compression.exclude-user-agents` are not supported by Reactor
Netty at the moment
* `server.compression.min-response-size` is only supported by Reactor
Netty right now, since other implementations rely on the
`"Content-Length"` HTTP response header to measure the response size
and most reactive responses are using `"Transfer-Encoding: chunked"`.

Previously, a number of Actuator endpoints ignored a context hierarchy
or assumed that it would always be linear. This commit reworks the
affected endpoints so that the no longer assume a linear hierarchy.
A side-effect of a non-linear hierarchy is that there may be multiple
different beans with the same name (in a linear hierarchy, a bean
with the same name as one in an ancestor context, replaces that bean).
The affected endpoints have also been updated so that, when bean names
are used as keys, those keys are grouped by application context. This
prevents a bean in one context from accidentially overwriting a bean
in another context.

This commit updates DefaultErrorAttributes to handle
ResponseStatusException explicitly. This exception is used in a
WebFlux application to signal that the processing of the query has
failed with an HTTP status code and a reason phrase. The latter is now
properly mapped to the `message` attribute of the response body.

command line runners are called, the publishing of
ApplicationReadyEvent now happens after the runners have been called.

This commit adds a new exception type that denotes the value of a
configuration key is invalid, alongside a FailureAnalyzer that reports
a human-readable report when such exception is thrown on startup.

This commit removes
`RestTemplateBuilder.requestFactory(ClientHttpRequestFactory factory)`
because it can be misleading. This builder class is meant to be
immutable, but calling that method and then timeout related ones will
affect the `ClientHttpRequestFactory` instance.
Instead, this method is replaced with a
`Supplier<ClientHttpRequestFactory>` that is called every time a
`RestTemplate` is being built.
That approach may reduce the reusability of request factories, but it is
much more consistent.

As HibernateJpaConfiguration is package private, it is no longer
possible to extend the default Spring Boot configuration to apply
advanced settings. The most notable use case for this is the
customization of Hibernate properties using instance value vs. string
value that can be set using the "spring.jpa.properties" namespace.
This commit adds a HibernatePropertiesCustomizer callback interface that
can be implemented to tune Hibernate properties at will.

This commit configures Jetty for HTTP/2 support as soon as the following
conditions are met:
* `server.http2.enabled=true`
* Both `org.eclipse.jetty:jetty-alpn-conscrypt-server` and

This will use the Conscrypt library for ALPN and TLS support using
native libraries shipped within the Conscrypt uber Jar. This does not

Previously, the Docbook Maven plugin would generate an epub archive
with the majority of contents in OEBPS/, including content.opf, while
the META-INF/container.xml file reference to content.opf in the root
of the archive.
This commit overrides the epub.oebps.dir variable to move the content
into the root of the archive where it's expected to be. Implementing
this override highlighted that our customization stylesheet was not
being applied as the configuration property was incorrect (it was
epubCustomnization rather than the required epub3Customization). This
has been corrected along with a problem with missing images that
fixing it revealed.

Refactor fat jar loader classes so that less `char[]` instances are
created. This is primarily achieved by adding a new `StringSequence`
class that can chop up Strings without needing to copy the underlying
array. Since Java 8, calls to `String.subString(...)` always copy the
underlying char array. For many of the operations that we need, this
is unnecessary.

Remove support for the `__` environment variable list shortcut in order
to reduce complexity. The shortcut was developed before the new `Binder`
code was fully formed and isn't really necessary now since comma-lists
can be converted automatically.

Prior to this change, the Spring MVC auto-configuration would add a new
formatter to convert `java.util.Date` to/from `String` using the
configured configuration property `spring.mvc.date-format`.
This commit adds a new `WebConversionService` class that registers
date formatters with a custom date format, or register the default ones
if no custom configuration is provided.
This avoids duplicating equivalent formatters in the registry.
With this change, date types from `java.util`, `org.joda.time` and
`java.time` are now all supported.
This commit also replicates this feature for WebFlux applications by
adding a new `spring.webflux.date-format` configuration property.

Update ImageBanner to support animated GIFs. Animations rely on ANSI
cursor codes so don't work so well in an IDE. They do, however, work

Previously, the Health web extension was defined in the management
context and, as a result, it wasn't found when a separate port was
required. The side effect is that anything that the health web extension
does was not active anymore in that case.

Previously, a `ReactiveHealthIndicator` bean was exposed to define the
health indicator to use for the reactive endpoint. Having it exposed as
a bean has the side effect that the regular `HealthIndicator` composite
is picked up and a "reactive" entry is added to the health details.

Rather than using two properties to enable or disable reactive and
imperative repositories for a particular store, this commit introduces
a new repository type condition that's backed by a single
spring.data.<store>.repositories.type property. The type can be
auto (automatically enables whatever's available), imperative (enables
imperative repositories), none (enables nothing), or reactive (enables
reactive repositories). The default is auto.
Repositories do not have a reactive option (such as JPA) continue to
have a spring.data.<store>.repositories.enabled property that takes a
boolean value.

If the WebFlux handler commits the response but still sends an error
signal in the reactive pipeline, Spring Boot error handling should not
try to handle that error: once committed, it is impossible to change the
response status or the response headers. Writing to the body might also
lead to invalid responses.
This commit skips error handling if the response is committed and
delegates to Spring Framework's `HttpWebHandlerAdapter` which will log
the error.

template engine in WebFlux.
A few configuration properties in the `spring.freemarker.*` namespace

Previously, a dependency on jackson-module-kotlin with Kotlin excluded
was added to spring-boot-starter-json. This gave Kotlin users a smooth
experience with Jackson and JSON at minimal, we thought, cost to other
users. We have since learned that this arrangement causes a
ClassNotFoundException at runtime when Jackson is configured to find
modules via the service loader. This makes the cost of including
jackson-module-kotlin to high for non-Kotlin users so this commit
removes it.

Elasticsearch server requires log4j-core but we don't want the entire
module to have a test dependency on log4j-core as it already uses
Logback. This commit uses the modified class path runner to make
log4j-core available specifically to the Elasticsearch-related tests.

Previously, custom Hibernate naming strategies could only be
configured via properties. This allowed a fully-qualified classname to
be specified, but did not allow a naming strategy instance to be used.
This commit updates HibernateJpaConfiguration to use
ImplicitNamingStrategy and PhysicalNamingStrategy beans if they
exist. If both a bean exists and the equivalent property has been set,
the bean wins.
This commit adds several configuration keys for customizing the
"Cache-Control" HTTP response header when serving static resources.
New keys are located in the "spring.resources.cache-control.*"
namespace; anything configured there will prevail on existing
"spring.resources.cache-period=" values, so as to mirror Spring MVC's
behavior.

type, rather than an ad-hoc mix of milliseconds or seconds.
Configuration properties can now be defined in a consistent and readable
way. For example `server.session.timeout=5m`.
Properties that were previously declared using seconds are annotated
with `@DurationUnit` to ensure a smooth upgrade experience. For example
`server.session.timeout=20` continues to mean 20 seconds.

Update endpoint code to provide cleaner separation of concerns.
Specifically, the top level endpoint package is no longer aware of
the fact that JMX and HTTP are ultimately used to expose endpoints.
Caching concerns have also been abstracted behind a general purpose
`OperationMethodInvokerAdvisor` interface.
Configuration properties have been refined to further enforce
separation. The `management.endpoint.<name>` prefix provides
configuration for a single endpoint (including enable and cache
time-to-live). These properties are now technology agnostic (they
don't include `web` or `jmx` sub properties).
The `management.endpoints.<technology>` prefix provide exposure specific
configuration. For example, `management.endpoints.web.path-mapping`
allow endpoint URLs to be changed.
Endpoint enabled/disabled logic has been simplified so that endpoints
can't be disabled per exposure technology. Instead a filter based
approach is used to allow refinement of what endpoints are exposed over
a given technology.

dependency convergence.
As Boot's dependencies have evolved, much of this dependency
management has become redundant. This commit removes it, and excludes
commons-logging in the single starter that still needs it instead.

Update `SpringConfigurationPropertySource` so that the
`SystemEnvironmentPropertyMapper` is only used for the "actual" system
environment property source. This allows SystemEnvironmentProperySource
class to be used for other purposes (for example, Spring Cloud uses it
to as an override source providing decryption).
Only property sources named `systemEnvironment` or ending with
`-systemEnvironment` now have the `SystemEnvironmentPropertyMapper`
applied. The `TestPropertyValues` has been retrofitted to name the
source it adds appropriately.

Refine `SystemEnvironmentPropertyMapper` to support environment
variables that would have worked in Spring Boot 1.5. Specifically,
camelCase property bindings now support an additional underscore. The

Refine the binder recursion rules introduced in commit f337323819 so
they only apply to Maps. Recursive List and Array binding is now no
longer allowed. Prior to this commit, binding a List that contained a

The following classes are now provided:

- `GenericReactiveWebApplicationContext` -- A non-refreshable reactive
GenericApplicationContext.
- `ReactiveWebServerApplicationContext` -- A non-refreshable reactive
GenericApplicationContext with support for server discovery.
- `AnnotationConfigReactiveWebServerApplicationContext` -- A
non-refreshable reactive `GenericApplicationContext` with support
for `@Configuration` classes and server discovery.
These classes roughly align to the following Servlet equivalents:
- `AnnotationConfigWebApplicationContext` (Spring Framework)
- `GenericWebApplicationContext` (Spring Framework)
- `ServletWebServerApplicationContext` (Spring Boot)

This commit ensures that all errors handled by the
`DefaultErrorWebExceptionHandler` (Spring WebFlux error convetion
support) logs an error with request information and exception
stacktrace.
This is limited to errors that result in an HTTP 5xx error.
Exceptions that extend `ResponseStatusException` and set a non-5xx
status will not be logged.

using a naming convention of ${ClassName}-${methodName}.gradle. This
convention led to two gradle scripts with filenames that were long
enough to causes problems on Windows.
This commit renames two test methods to reduce the length of their

files.

Previously, the configuration metadata annotation processor relied
upon an additional metadata file have been copied to an output
location. When building with Gradle, it's the processResources task
that performs this copy and there is no guarantee that it will have
run before the compileJava task unless an explicit dependency betwee
the two tasks has been configured. If a project is built using
Gradle's parallel build support, the likelihood of this required
ordering not occurring increases.
This commit updates the configuration metadata annotation processor to
consider a new annotation processor option when looking for the
additional config metadata file. The Gradle plugin has been updated
to provide this option as a compiler argument. The option is only
provided when the annotation processor is found on the compilation
classpath to avoid a warning from javac's annotation processing about
the use of an option that is not supported by any of the available
annotation processors.

This commit updates `WebFluxSecurityConfiguration` to look for a
`WebFilterChainProxy` rather than the default configuration that
`@EnableWebFluxSecurity` triggers. The latter is now package private.
Previously, ConfigurationPropertiesBindingPostProcessor had a number
of setter methods that implied that its configuration was more mutable
than it actually is and would only have an effect when called early
on in the post-processor's lifecycle.
This commit clarifies how the post-processor can be configured by
removing the misleading setters.

Previously, configuration properties binding would only see changes to
the environment if there was no PropertySourcesPlaceholderConfigurer
in the context. This happened because
PropertySourcesPlaceholderConfigurer wrapped the Environment in a
PropertySource, effectively hiding it from the change tracking
performed by SpringConfigurationPropertySources.
This commit updates ConfigurationPropertiesBindingPostProcessor so
that it ignores the environment property source contained by
PropertySourcesPlaceholderConfigurer and uses a composite of
the PropertySourcesPlaceholderConfigurer's other property sources and
the Environment's PropertySources instead.
Since Kotlin extensions do not apply to static
methods, this commit introduces a runApplication()
Kotlin top level function that acts as a Kotlin
shortcut for SpringApplication.run().
This shortcut avoids to require using non-idiomatic
code like SpringApplication.run(FooApplication::class.java)
and provides a runApplication<FooApplication>() alternative
(as well as an array of KClass based alternative when
multiple classes need to be passed as parameter).
It is possible to customize the application with the

When building a flattened map, the YamlProcessor from

DSL provided by the Gradle plugin. It can be used to explicitly
configure the mainClassName of the default bootRun, bootJar, and
bootWar tasks in a single place. Previously, the only mechanism
provided to do so was the mainClassName property that's only available
when the application plugin has been applied.

Previously, BootRun used the main property to configure the name of
the main class to run while BootJar and BootWar used the mainClass
property. Both were different to the application plugin which provides
a mainClassName project property.
This commit updates BootRun, BootJar, and BootWar to change the name
of the property used to configure the name of the main class to be
mainClassName. This makes the three Boot-specific tasks consistent
with each other, and also aligns them with Gradle's own application
plugin.

Previously, we relied on Mockito's internals to bypass any Spring AOP
proxy during verification of a spy. Thanks to a new API in Mockito,
we can replace the use of Mockito's internals with a
VerificationStartedListener. This listener changes Mockito's view of
the mock to be the ultimate target of the AOP proxy, i.e. to be the
actual Mockito-created spy, allowing Mockito's verification of the
spy to proceed successfully.
This above-described change will mean that we require a very
up-to-date version of Mockito so the tests that verify our
compatibility with 2.5 have been removed as we will no longer support
it when using @MockBean or @SpyBean.
Lastly, two tests have been updated to replace their usage of the
internal MockUtil class with the equivalent public API calls.
